Notes from 17th october

Roland Barthes (1977): Came up with narrative codes:
  • Enigma- Puzzle/question/problem that the audience need to solve. Information for the audience.
  • Action code- Tells the audience what action is likely to happen.




 Editing techniques: 
  •  Eye line match- When the audience see what the characters seeing through an editing technique.
  • Shot reverse shot- Used in conversation when it switches between the different people in the conversation and back to a wide shot.and is used to create verisimilitude
  • Action match- A movement that is continued across a number of shots.

Round up

Today I have learnt that diegetic sound is sound that exists within the story of the film

I also learnt that non-diegetic sound is sod that does not exist within the story of the film

I also learn that a foley sound engineer is someone who creates sound form outside the scene that is added in post produton

This lesson I have re-recorded my scrip for vlog 1 and have imported it into audition and have started to cut the audio up.

Aims for the lesson

I have to export my recording onto audition
then put it on premiere
and start editing it on adobe premiere
