Four lions Mise en scene : Drone scene

Mise en scene: Four lions drone scene

Narrative: The narrative of Four Lions is that a group of British Muslims aspire to be terrorists and the disruption is that they actually believe that what they want to do is right. The new equilibrium is hat ll the men end up blowing themselves up.

Location: The location of a weapons cache in the desert has connotations of terrorism because people always have this idea of terrorists out in the middle of the desert, so this scene plays off of that idea.

Characters + acting gestures: The character are very panicked by the drone and quite excited at the idea of shooting it down with a rocket launcher.

Costume and make up- The characters are wearing head scarfs this could be to show the conditions that they are in (desert).

Props- One prop is the rocket launcher that Omar takes out of the cart. This prop has connotations of terrorism and violence because is used to kill people. another prop is the camouflage netting over the cart of guns, this has connotations of some kind of military, and it also connotes terrorism, because they are trying to hide their guns from military drones.

Lighting and colour- The lighting used is natural light, this gives the film a very realistic feel to it in order to follow the social realistic style of the rest of the film.
